2015 Recap:
Trip out west, Rebecca & Josh, Kelly
& Susan, DJ & Dianna, Molly & Joe get married!
2015 Began with a visit from Erika & Jake. It was
good to see them California is so far away! Jake and Erika have been together
for about a year now. He seems to meet my criteria for partners of my girls, he
adores her. They both are labor activists and have an exciting west coast life. We welcomed old friends from school, Pete Klay & Eileen, Sharon (Hunt) & Mike Hoffman. I'm betting they will be back! Patty George stopped in for a river float.
We attended my cousin Rebeca & Josh's wedding in Tampa. Wayne got a Harley last year and RC and I will soon
follow his lead. Easy riders at our age? Why not! We added a big old scraggly
lab we call Willie to our household. He was abandoned and in rough shape, but
he has settled in nicely and is feeling much better in his retirement home. The
vet thinks he was a hog dog because he is scared up and has evidence of broken
bones and no teeth. Heart worm and a skin condition round out his problems but
he’s sweet and I love him.
Briana and Travis bought a great place in Mount Dora. It needed some TLC as it has been a vacant foreclosure for a while, but everyone rolled up their sleeves and have made it beautiful. They have a pool, some room for a garden, chickens, and who knows else on the acre that surrounds them.
RC and I headed out west for my travel month of May! We visited as many National Parks as we could
pack into a month. We traveled to 6 states and Canada and spent some time with
Jake and Erika.Began and ended in Las Vegas, where we met Trav & Bri & Wayne for their anniversary. What a beautiful country we have, check the North West off the
bucket list!
Next major event was the Wedding of my niece Kelly and
her partner Susan. They were beautiful
brides and I am so happy this country has finally come to its senses and made
it possible for them to be married! Wayne’s brother Gary and Carrie have a gorgeous
place and he has recovered nicely from a bad fall the previous year.
June 26, 2015 marked the end of our friend Joe’s bachelor
life. He married Molly in Key West, and we celebrated when they got back home.
We couldn’t be happier for these two great friends!
Back to the glens for the rest of the summer and another classic
Buffalo wedding of Dianna and DJ, I love how much is stuffed into three months
in WNY. Free concerts, field days, art festivals, Shakespeare in the Park, all
on fast forward to get it done before the snow flies again!
Halloween, Football season, Thanksgiving and Christmas bring us to the end
of another eventful year!
My dear Aunt Johnny Baumgartner lost her fight with cancer this year & Travis lost his Gramma, so sad to say good bye. They live on in our memories but will be greatly missed.
